Defoamers quickly eliminate harmful foam by disrupting the surface tension of liquids. They are divided into silicone types (high-temperature resistant, suitable for petroleum and textiles), polyether types (acid- and alkali-resistant, used in biological fermentation and wastewater treatment), and special types resistant to strong acids/bases (such as plating solutions). Their functions include improving production efficiency and ensuring product quality. They are mainly used in processes prone to foam formation, such as papermaking and pulping, paint production, industrial cleaning, and wastewater treatment, and are especially indispensable in antibiotic fermentation and wastewater aeration processes.
